Giant Food introduced its new Local Produce Boxes to help consumers obtain access to in-season, locally sourced produce in the communities it serves.
The boxes, which retail for $20 online through Giant Delivers, are available throughout the summer without a subscription, according to the Landover, Md.-based retailer.

The produce boxes will contain six or more distinct items from local farms in Maryland, Virginia and Delaware, with more than 20 farms participating, including Fifer Orchards, Vincent Farms, Miller Farms, Houser Produce Farm, Calloway Bros, Shlagel Farms and Kirby Farms.
“At Giant, we know our customers appreciate fresh and seasonal produce when they are in store or ordering online just as much as we do,” Gregg Dorazio, director of e-commerce at Giant Food, said. “We look forward to bringing these specially curated Local Produce Boxes featuring summer’s tastiest produce to our customers.”
