Herdez enters the guacamole game
There’s a new way to enjoy avocados, thanks to Herdez.
The Orange, Calif.-based company is unveiling its offerings of refrigerated guacamole, which comes in a ready-to-eat format that can be enjoyed anywhere.
Containing just seven ingredients, including Hass avocados, tomato, onion, cilantro and green peppers — the guacamole is available in both mild and spicy varieties.
“Guacamole plays a huge role in Mexican cuisine and it continues to grow in popularity with an estimated 2.6 billion pounds of avocados being consumed by Americans in 2019,” Diana DeLoza, senior brand manager at MegaMex Foods said. “The recipe of this guacamole came from the archives of Fundacion Herdez, a non-profit culinary library in the heart of Mexico City. The Fundacion has been researching and preserving Mexican culinary traditions since 1987. We are proud to partner with the Fundacion to bring to the consumers' homes the real taste of Mexico with this product offering.”
Made without the use of artificial flavors or preservatives, Herdez traditional guacamole retails from $2.64 to $5.99, is available in 8-oz. and 15-oz. cups, and can be found at the deli section of select grocery stores across the nation.
