Jimmy Dean’s breakfast sandwiches go plant based

1/15/2021

Jimmy Dean is jumping on the popular plant-based trend with not one, but two new breakfast sandwiches.

New from the Springdale, Ark.-based company are the Plant-Based Patty, Egg and Cheese Croissant Sandwiches and Delights Plant-Based Patty and Frittata Sandwich.

“Plant-based foods are revolutionizing the way people eat across meal occasions, including breakfast,” Scott Glenn, senior director of marketing at the Jimmy Dean brand, said. “As the protein breakfast leader, expanding our portfolio to provide people with alternative choices was critical. We also had to deliver the same signature flavor and quality people expect from the Jimmy Dean brand with our new sandwiches, and we're excited for both our lifelong and new fans to try them.”

Featuring its signature seasoning, the Plant-Based Patty, Egg and Cheese Croissant Sandwiches contain a plant-based patty made from soy protein and egg whites, American cheese, and whole eggs packed between a croissant.

While the Delights Plant-Based Patty and Frittata Sandwich features a vegetable and grain patty made from soy protein, black beans, brown rice, quinoa and egg whites, and topped with a spinach and egg white frittata and American cheese.

“We’re thankful to the loyal Jimmy Dean fans who share our passion for breakfast, and we're excited to introduce new people to the Jimmy Dean brand as we bring innovations to market to meet evolving consumer needs, like the plant-based patty breakfast sandwiches,” Glenn said.

The croissant sandwiches are now available at Sam’s Club locations nationwide, while the frittata sandwiches will hit shelves in the spring.
