Lightlife, Field Roast launch plant-based breakfast sausages

The first meal of the day is jumping on the plant-based trend.

With the category constantly expanding, Lightlife and Field Roast Grain Meat have decided to add a new spin on plant-based breakfast offerings by offering three new breakfast sausage options that do not contain meat.

“Breakfast is an important part of the day, and until now, there has not been many plant-based protein options available,” Dan Curtin, president of Greenleaf Foods, parent company of both brands, said. “We’re reinvigorating the plant-based breakfast space with new delicious items from Lightlife and Field Roast.”

New to the Lightlife family are plant-based breakfast sausage links and plant-based sausage patties. Featuring the taste and texture of traditional pork, the products are made from such ingredients as pea and rice protein, and do not contain artificial flavors, the company said.

In addition, Field Roast is launching a plant-based apple maple breakfast sausage seasoned with sage, black pepper and rosemary.
