    SUSSEX, Wis. -- Meijer opened two new supercenters in the Midwest on Tuesday, bringing local shoppers better access to a full-service pharmacy with a drive-thru window.

    The company announced that it had opened a new supercenter in the Indianapolis area and in Sussex, Wis.

    GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Meijer on Thursday opened a new 192,000-square-foot supercenter in Sturgis, Mich.

    "Opening this store has been a long time coming, and we're thrilled the day is finally here," CEO Hank Meijer said. "Sturgis has never had a one-stop shopping destination like Meijer, so we're proud to be the retailer to fill that void."

    NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Leading Dutch sweets brand Daelmans is expanding distribution of its popular Stroopwafels.

    The company, in conjunction with Brand Passport Inc., is making its famous Stroopwafels available throughout Chicago at specialty stores, major grocery stores, convenience stores and other retailers.

  • Report: Meijer to sponsor street hockey in parking lots

    Meijer is planning to turn 10 Michigan parking lots into destinations for summer street hockey for kids, according to the Associated Press. The big retailer says there will be an hour of instruction followed by a 30-minute game at 10 stores in July. (AP)

  • Meijer opens first of new clinics under Sparrow Health System partnership

    An exam room in the new Sparrow FastCare Clinic at the Okemos, Mich. Meijer store. 

    OKEMOS, Mich. — Meijer on Monday held a ribbon cutting ceremony to open its newest health care clinic at its location here at 2055 W. Grand River Ave. The Sparrow FastCare clinic will offer walk-in services for minor injuries and common illnesses and is staffed by nurse practitioners and physician assistants from Sparrow Health System.
