French snack brand Michel et Augustin is putting a new twist on the traditional croissant.

New are Croissant Chips, which bring together the flavors of the French pastry with the classic American snack, the company said.

Available exclusively at Whole Foods Market, the snack is available in two flavors — sweet and crispy, and sweet cinnamon.

“We are excited to continue our partnership with Michel et Augustin and launch Croissant Chips exclusively at Whole Foods Market,” Allie Hausladen, grocery category merchant at Whole Foods Market said. “We think our customers will be delighted with the sweet puff pastry snack, a concept truly unique to the cookie category.”

Baked in the United States with real butter and simple ingredients, the snacks do not contain artificial sweeteners or dyes, the company said.

“We generally associate croissants with breakfast, but we wanted to break free of that. So, we made a pastry that can be enjoyed at any moment of the day, paired with just about anything,” Rebecca Dengrove, Michel et Augustin’s head of product development. “We want it to be clear that there’s no wrong way to eat a Croissant Chip.”

Both flavors come in a 3-oz. bag that retails for $4.99 each.
