  • B. Braun's wound management gel available for OTC use

    BETHLEHEM, Pa. — B. Braun has launched its Prontosan wound management gel — a product used in the healthcare setting for cleaning wounds, as well as moistening and lubricating absorbent wound dressings — for over-the-counter use.

    The ready-to-use gel contains PHMB and betaine, the surfactant for the cleansing and moistening of wounds. Its nontoxic and biocompatible formula also offers excellent skin tolerance, the company said.

  • Passage Foods introducing Moroccan line

    COLLINSVILLE, Conn. — Passage Foods is expanding its international cooking sauce selections with a new exotic line.

    Passage to Morocco simmer sauces blend together eclectic flavors that Moroccan cuisine is known for. The range consists of Moroccan spiced lemon tagine, Moroccan spiced honey tagine and Moroccan harissa tomato and bell pepper beef. Each package contains three to four servings, and each simmer sauce contains all-natural, gluten-free ingredients.

  • FDA extends review time of AstraZeneca's vandetanib

    LONDON — A new drug application for Anglo-Swedish drug maker AstraZeneca's vandetanib has been extended.

    The drug maker recently announced that the Food and Drug Administration asked AstraZeneca to submit a Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategy, which accordingly extended the Prescription Drug User Fee Act from Jan. 7 to April 7.

    AstraZeneca will continue to work closely with the FDA to support the review of vandetanib, a drug for treating patients with advanced medullary thyroid cancer.

    The line is positioned as "the first complete collection of fun, informative, natural makeup and skin care for Generation Z."
