    APOPKA, Fla. —Simply Orange Juice announced three new additions to their lines of Simply Orange Juice and Simply Lemonade varieties: tangerine and banana under the Simply Orange Juice brand, and a blueberry variety from Simply Lemonade.

  • Wellco Brands launches pain relief cream for under the nose of cold, allergy sufferers

    BUFFALO, N.Y. — Wellco Brands on Thursday launched Healerz for Noses, a pain relief cream to soothe the skin under the nose that becomes irritated during cold and allergy season.  

    Healerz is formulated with lidocaine for pain relief, benzalkonium chloride antiseptic to help guard against infection and aloe for its soothing properties.  

    Each package contains six single-use packets.

    GEORGIA, Vt. — Perrigo Nutritionals is introducing new packaging that the company said would make providing nutrition to infants more convenient.

  • Popchips to launch Katy Perry-inspired flavor

    SAN FRANCISCO — Pop singer Katy Perry will leave her mark on the newest flavor from snack brand Popchips, the company said Friday.

    Popchips said it would launch Katy's Kettle Corn, described as sweet and salty, at Target stores this month. Perry joined the company in July 2012 as an investor and creative partner and expressed an interest in creating a signature flavor of the snack.

  • Post Foods follows Greek yogurt craze with introduction of new Honey Bunches of Oats cereal

    PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Post Foods on Friday announced the addition of a new variety to the Honey Bunches of Oats family: Honey Bunches of Oats Greek Honey Crunch cereal.

    Available nationwide, the new cereal combines real Greek yogurt bunches, crispy whole grain flakes and honey. It is the first of the Honey Bunches of Oats line to include Greek yogurt.

  • Dr. Reddy's launches allergy drug

    HYDERABAD, India — Dr. Reddy's Labs has launched a drug used for treating allergies, the generic drug maker said Friday.

    The Indian drug maker announced the launch of desloratadine orally disintegrating tablets in the 2.5-mg and 5-mg strengths. The drug is a generic version of Merck's Clarinex Reditabs and is available in unit-dose packages of 30.

    The branded version of the drug had sales of about $5.3 million during the 12-month period that ended in November 2012, according to IMS Health.

  • Perrigo, Ther-Rx announce availability of Gynazole-1

    ST. LOUIS — Perrigo and a subsidiary of K-V Pharmaceutical Co. have launched a new drug for yeast infections in women, the two companies said.

    Perrigo and Ther-Rx Corp. announced the availability of Gynazole-1 (butoconazole nitrate vaginal cream) in the 2% strength for treating yeast infections in nonpregnant women.

    Ther-Rx has a partnership with Perrigo to manufacture the drug.

  • FDA approves Novartis drug for rare blood disorder

    SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new drug for removing excess iron from the blood in patients with a rare genetic disorder, the agency said.

    The FDA announced the approval of Novartis' Exjade (deferasirox) for patients ages 10 years and older with chronic iron overload resulting from nontransfution-dependent thalassemia, or NTDT. A companion diagnostic, FerriScan, made by Australia-based Resonance Health, also was approved.
