    MINNEAPOLIS – The pranksters at 30 Watt have introduced a new way to fool family and friends this holiday season, with a fake new product that supposedly solves the issue of hard-to-reach electrical devices — Connect-A-Cord, 50 one-foot sections of cord — the company announced on Monday.

    With 50 separate cords, Connect-A-Cord is a new solution to tangled cords, the product's box claims. The product's packaging also boasts that it comes with an optional contractor case for tangle-free storage.

  • Ballantyne Brands advances share of electronic cigarette market

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Ballantyne Brands, an electronic cigarette provider, on Monday announced the introduction of a new premium brand, NEO. The company also announced that it has acquired the Mistic brand of electronic cigarettes for an undisclosed amount, and has secured an investment partner to support its business for the long term.

  • FDA approves new strength of HIV drug

    TITUSVILLE, N.J. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new strength of a drug for HIV made by Johnson & Johnson, the drug maker said.

    J&J subsidiary Janssen Therapeutics announced the approval of an 800-mg formulation of Prezista (darunavir) as a once-daily treatment for HIV. The drug is designed to be taken with food at the same time as ritonavir and in combination with other HIV drugs.

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Tropical Foods — a food manufacturer that specializes in raw and roasted nuts, dried fruit and snack mixes — recently announced the introduction of new flavors to their top-selling Buffalo Nuts line.

    The new flavors include Buffalo Nuts with Ranch, Honey Roasted Buffalo Nuts and Buffalo Nuts with Blue Cheese. Buffalo Nuts are peanuts with a kick of buffalo wing flavor.

  • Panasonic introduces small toothbrush for women

    SECAUCUS, N.J. — Panasonic has introduced a toothbrush to its line of compact personal care products for women, the company said Friday.

    Panasonic announced the introduction of the EW-DS90 series of battery-operated compact toothbrushes, adding it to its compact body shavers, facial hair trimmers and heated eyelash curlers.

    EL PASO, TEXAS – Novamex, producer and marketer for such Mexican brands as Jarritos premium Mexican soda, on Thursday announced that it has launched Alova — the first natural, sparkling aloe vera beverage.

    Alova will be available in three flavors: Cucumber/Mint, Mandarin Orange and Grapefruit. Each bottle contains 70-80 calories and all natural ingredients, real sugar, no preservatives and no artificial flavors.
