    NEW YORK — General Electric and Healthline have introduced a new application that lets users explore the inside of the body, the companies announced Tuesday.

    BodyMaps, designed to work with the Apple iPad's Retina display, features 3D, high-resolution images of more than 1,000 body parts, tissues, bones and organs and a searchable index.

  • Latest Skippy peanut butter trims sodium, sugar content

    ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — A peanut butter brand has introduced a new product than touts one-third less sodium and sugar than its staple creamy peanut butter product.

    Skippy Natural Creamy with 1/3 less sodium and sugar is the first natural peanut butter variety available nationwide in the growing low-sodium and low-sugar segment of the peanut butter category, according to the company.

    New Skippy Natural Creamy with 1/3 less sodium and sugar is available in 15-oz. jars at stores nationwide.

    NEW YORK — Gaiam has released two new fitness DVDs centered around yoga.

  • PureWellness integrates wellness system with EHRs

    BURLINGTON, Vt. — PureWellness has released continuity of care documents supported by HL7 standards for health information exchange between its online wellness system and CCD-supported electronic health records, the company said.

    The new integration allows members and health coaches to synchronize and share lifestyle, behavior and risk information with care providers and their associated data networks. Most EHR systems and the Certification Commission for Health Information Technology have adopted CCD as the standard.

  • Tecate Michelada makes U.S. debut

    NEW YORK — Heineken USA has launched its Tecate Michelada beverage in the United States.

    Tecate Michelada follows the same traditional brewing process of Tecate to the master brewer's exact specifications, the company said. The beer then is carefully blended with the taste of lime, spices and a hint of chili pepper to create a bold flavored beer mix with a deep golden color. Tecate Michelada can be enjoyed cold, straight from the can or poured over ice, into a traditional goblet-style glass with a salted rim.

  • Zarbee's extends brand with new extra-strength line

    SALT LAKE CITY — Zarbee's has boosted its portfolio of all-natural cough products to include an extra-strength line.

    Designed for those ages 12 years and older, the over-the-counter extra-strength all-natural cough products will supplement the existing line of Zarbee's original cough products, which currently are available for children ages 12 months and older. The new extra-strength products are specially formulated at a higher strength and dose than the original children's product, Zarbee's said.

  • Astellas, Medivation cancer drug wins FDA approval

    SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new drug made by Astellas Pharma U.S. and Medivation for treating prostate cancer, the agency said Friday.

    The FDA announced the approval of Xtandi (enzalutamide) for castration-resistant prostate cancer that has spread or recurred despite medical or surgical therapy to minimize testosterone.

  • Travel Channel, Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment release new DVD collections for hit shows

    NEW YORK — Gaiam Vivendi Entertainment is releasing two DVD collections under the company's exclusive home video license agreement with Travel Channel.

    The company has debuted "Ghost Adventures Season 4." "Ghost Adventures" follows Zak Bagans, Nick Groff and Aaron Goodwin, a trio that visits some of the nation's most notoriously haunted places and spaces. Such places visited include the Stanley Hotel — the site that inspired Stephen King's "The Shining" — in addition to a corrupt funeral home located in Seattle and Gettysburg, Pa.
