  • iGPS earns spot on Inbound Logistics' top green supply chain partner list

  • Sagent launches generic antibiotic

    SCHAUMBURG, Ill. — Sagent Pharmaceuticals has launched a generic antibiotic, the company said.

    The generic drug maker announced the launch of oxacillin for injection. The drug is a semi-synthetic penicillin used to treat infections caused by penicillinase-producing staphylococci bacteria that have demonstrated susceptibility to the drug.

    The drug had sales of $29 million during the 12-month period ended in May, according to IMS Health.

  • J&J unit launches medication adherence app

    SAN DIEGO — A subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson has launched a mobile medication adherence application that it said can be used for any prescription or over-the-counter medication or supplement.

    Janssen Healthcare Innovation, a unit of Janssen Research & Development announced Wednesday the launch of Care4Today Mobile Adherence, a secure messaging platform available for iPhone, Android and BlackBerry devices, among others.

  • Wonder boosts wheat bread lineup

    IRVING, Texas — Wonder has introduced three new wheat breads that combine wholesome nutrition with the delicious taste of Wonder, the company said.

    New Wonder 100% whole wheat, honey wheat and wheat sandwich varieties are free of artificial colors, flavors and preservatives, contain 25% less sodium than traditional wheat breads and have zero grams of trans fat. The packaging for all of Wonder's new wheat varieties feature "nutritional notes" that clearly display important nutritional facts to help consumers make informed choices, Wonder said.

  • FDA approves new COPD drug

    SILVER SPRING, Md. — The Food and Drug Administration has approved a new drug made by Forest Labs for treating chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, the agency said.

    The FDA announced the approval of Tudorza Pressair (aclidinium bromide) for the long-term maintenance of COPD-related narrowing of the airways in the lung, also known as bronchospasm. The drug is an inhaled dry powder used twice per day.
