Newman’s Own debuts avocado oil-based salad dressings

8/24/2020

Newman’s Own is jumping on the continuingly popular avocado trend with a line of salad dressings.

The Westport, Conn.-based company, which donates its profits to charity, has launched a collection of dairy-free dressings that contain both an avocado oil and extra virgin olive oil base.

Available in ranch, Caesar and Greek varieties, the dressings are keto and paleo certified, and are also suitable for those adhering to a vegan or 3-day whole food diet, the company said.

“From the beginning, Paul Newman wanted Newman's Own to stand for two principles: creating great-tasting food and donating 100% of profits to charity,” Bruce Bruemmer, the vice president of marketing for Newman's Own, said. “The new line of Avocado Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil Dressings continues Paul's founding tradition by providing families with a great-tasting, dairy-free dressing that also gives back to those in need.”

In addition, each of the three new dressings also is free of dairy, sugar, soy, gluten and canola, the company said.

Newman’s Own Avocado Oil and Extra Virgin Olive Oil dressings are currently available in 8-oz. glass bottles that retail for $5.49 at such retailers across New England as Hannaford Supermarket, Stop & Shop, Big Y World Class Market, and Shaws among others.
