Sephora is shining a light on its Beauty (Re)Purposed program, which offers a start-to-finish solution for sustainable beauty routines that avoid landfills.
The empties collection program is designed to help reduce hard-to-recycle packaging waste in the beauty and wellness industry and offers consumers the chance to give their products a second life.
The program works by having users clean out their beauty product packaging by removing all product and then dropping them off at their nearest Sephora location that features a dedicated bin.
To date, Beauty (Re)Purpised has collected more than 10,860-lbs. of hard to recycle material, which equals to 217,2220 lipstick tubes, the company said.
