November is a big month for me. In addition to Thanksgiving, my birthday and the anniversary of the first date my wife and I went on also are in November. On our first anniversary, my wife got me a really nice watch; I got her a $20 memory box from Papyrus. Somehow, she stuck with me anyway.
Apparently, I had — and still do have — quite a bit to learn.
You could learn a lot from the 20 women featured in this issue. The best piece of advice that didn’t make the issue came from CVS/pharmacy president Helena Foulkes.
After 22 years at CVS, and a multitude of different experiences throughout the organization, Foulkes has “gotten comfortable living in ambiguity,” she told DSN. “I’ve been thrust into situations where I just don’t know, and I have gotten comfortable not knowing. I think when you can get into a zone where you can feel comfortable living in ambiguity, it allows you to be more creative.”
It is important to note that the 20 women in this issue are not meant to be the definitive list of the most important women in our industry, nor are they ranked in importance — that is why we listed them in alphabetical order. Our industry is blessed to have many talented women working in it — many more than we could ever feature in one issue.
So, if you think someone you know belongs in this report, they probably do; drop me a note at [email protected]. And if you have any thoughts on an anniversary present for my wife, I’m all ears.
