Rite Aid offers allergy screenings, discounts

4/5/2012

CAMP HILL, Pa. — Rite Aid is offering new coupon booklets and other services to help customers make it through allergy season, the retail pharmacy chain said Thursday.

The company announced the release of exclusive Rite Aid Allergy coupon booklets and a QR code placed strategically in stores that allows smartphone users to determine local pollen counts, while pharmacists will be on hand to talk to customers about over-the-counter and prescription drugs for allergies. In addition, the company will offer free allergy screenings on April 28 at stores in Atlanta, Detroit, Baltimore, Philadelphia, Pittsburgh, Harrisburg, Pa., and Buffalo, N.Y. The tests, administered by nurses, will screen for egg, mold, cat, wheat, mountain cedar, dust mite, milk, ragweed and grass allergies.

"For the millions of Americans suffering from allergies, Rite Aid is offering more ways than ever before to enjoy their spring," Rite Aid EVP pharmacy Robert Thompson said. "The key to successfully managing allergies starts with awareness, and that's why we're especially excited to offer free allergy screenings at select Rite Adi stores this month."
