Walgreens introduces media recovery service for photo customers

10/21/2010

DEERFIELD, Ill. Retrieving lost digital photos just got easier with a new service offered by Walgreens.

Walgreens' media recovery service helps customers recover lost images and other files from memory cards or USB drives. The service is provided by FlashFixers, which supports recovery of standard image formats and camera RAW files, as well as most sound, video, office and graphics files. The recovered files are saved to a CD or DVD for customer pick-up at Walgreens. The customer’s card or drive is returned, and there is no charge if the recovery is not successful.

Recovery prices are based on media size and begin at $39.99.

“Sooner or later, every digital camera user has the misfortune of losing a photo, and I know from experience this can be heartbreaking,” said Mona Kelly, Walgreens general merchandise manager of photo and front-end services. “As a trusted go-to provider of convenient, high-quality photo services in thousands of communities, we’re pleased to offer a solution that can help customers get back their cherished photos and, along with them, their peace of mind.”
