The beauty category is constantly expanding with new brands hitting direct-to-consumer channels or expanding their reach to traditional retail shelves. 

Existing brands are also constantly looking for ways to not only revamp their image but also reach a new age of consumers. 

DSN is keeping an eye out for brands set to make waves and is highlighting a notable group that will surely be making waves in the space.

Anoma Beauty

Founded by Sai Menon, Anoma Beauty was created to make beauty work for her lifestyle instead of working her lifestyle around her beauty routine. 

The brand looks to provide effective beauty solutions whilst promoting self-care while also bringing simple solutions to consumers. 

Its hero product, Skinsplash, is a multitasking essence designed to simplify skin care routines by understanding skin type and tone. Other products include Abundance, which is made with cucumber and aloe for dry and dehydrated skin. Soothe, which is made with oats and quinoa for redness and inflammation. Defend, which is made with green tea and tea tree for breakouts and antibacterial healing. Protection, which is made with sea buckthorn and white tea for fine lines and smoother skin textures.

Skinsplash in its latest evolution comes in a frosted glass bottle that can be refilled.

Herbacin

Founded in the heart of Germany in 1905, Herbacin’s beauty line includes moisturizing hand, body and lip balms, as well as shampoos and shower gels. The brand also features Wellness, Facial Care, Intensive Moisture, Foot Care and Camouflage lines. It also features products that are dermatologically tested at the company's facility in Wutha-Farnroda, Germany. 

The Face Care Cleansing Oil is an all-in-one product which cleanses, removes makeup and nourishes skin with natural ingredients, the brand noted. It is made with an almond oil-based formulation and free from synthetic preservatives, colorants and fragrances.

Lastly, the Skin Solutions Series is formulated to address various skin challenges such as blemishes, pigmentation marks, pimples, dry and cracked skin, age spots and very dry and flaky skin.

l.a.b. (Light Activated Beauty) 

L.a.b. (Light Activated Beauty) is a skin care brand that combines patent-pending light therapy technology with skin care formulations. Co-founded by Lloyd Nelson and Doug Cooper, the brand offers dual-faceted skin care systems that feature LED-enhanced benefits, which is on display with its Light Therapy Patch. 

About the size of an acorn, the Light Therapy Patch works to emit a wavelength of LED light to help address specific skin care concerns such as shrinking a pimple or fading a dark spot. 

The brand’s Acne Drying Compound aims to help clear acne quickly through a blend of such ingredients as salicylic acid, zinc and sulfur to help unclog pores, exfoliate dead skin, lessen redness, target inflammation and absorb excess oil to reduce the size and appearance of pimples.

Founded by Carly Broderick, the brand focuses on the journey that young people take as they grow and develop from ages 9 to 19 years old. 

Focused on delivering four “must-haves” for a personal care brand designed for teens, the brand uses clean, natural ingredients, is designed to glide on smoothly without tugging sensitive skin, and brands itself on being inclusive to individuals. 

Made with magnesium hydroxide and sodium bicarbonate to help eliminate odor-causing bacteria on the surface of the skin, it also contains safflower oil and mango seed butter to moisturize the skin and improve the glide upon application and hyaluronic acid and aloe leaf extract to soothe skin.

TRNR Skin 

Co-founded by board-certified, Harvard-trained dermatologist and assistant professor at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Dr. Ryan Turner, and sisters Carrie Pickett and Aimee Bailey, the brand aims to bring clinical dermatological experience, scientific background and training in biochemistry to consumers, regardless of their skin type, concern or budget. 

Featuring three products—Glycolic Gel to Foam Cleanser, Niacinamide 5% Restorative Serum and Prebiotic Lipid Nourishing Moisturizer— priced under $60, TRNR Skin’s formulas contain actives.
