Bausch + Lomb debuts Ocuvite Eye Performance vitamins

By David Salazar - 07/09/2019
Bausch + Lomb is expanding its portfolio of vitamins focused on eye health. The Bridgewater, N.J.-based company has unveiled Ocuvite Eye Performance vitamins, which are formulated to strengthen the macula, which helps protect the eye from sunlight and blue light from digital devices.

“From increased UV exposure from sunlight, and blue light absorbed during long hours spent in front of digital devices, the demands we place on our eyes on a daily basis are rapidly evolving, and our eyes have not been able to keep up on their own,” said Chris Marschall, vice president and general manager of U.S. consumer healthcare for Bausch + Lomb. “Using insights gathered directly from consumers and eye care professionals, we developed Ocuvite Eye Performance vitamins to support the eyes’ natural protective filter providing the added strength they need to take on today’s modern world.”

Among the nutrients in the vitamins are lutein and zeaxanthin, which are naturally found in the eye, as well as omega-3s to support healthy tears and healthy retina; zinc to help regulate the eye’s immune function; and vitamins C, D and E.

The Ocuvite Eye Performance vitamins currently are available at major retailers nationwide, including CVS Pharmacy, Walgreens, Walmart and Target. A 50-count bottle retails for $19.99.
