NORWOOD, Pa. — With Boiron USA’s Arnicare Gel firmly established as one of the external analgesics category’s bestselling products, the company recently extended the line to include Arnicare Cream.

Boiron executives said that the new cream will drive more shoppers to the analgesics aisle and give them another homeopathic option in the category. “We feel the cream will bring more consumers into the category, especially since the external analgesic cream segment is larger than the gel segment,” VP national accounts Gary Wittenberg said. “Together, the cream and the gel give consumers an option for a preferred texture.”

Wittenberg said that unlike Arnicare Gel, which is cooling and refreshing and is quickly absorbed into the skin, Arnicare Cream is soothing and ideal for massaging sore muscles. Both forms are unscented and paraben-free.

According to IRI data, sales of Arnicare during the 12 months ended June 14 increased 21.3%, making it the ninth-best-selling brand in the external analgesics rubs category.
