CHPA commends administration for signing DASCA into law
WASHINGTON — The Consumer Healthcare Products Association thanked President Obama for signing the Designer Anabolic Steroid Control Act into law last month. DASCA will update the list of anabolic steroids on the controlled substances list and grant the Drug Enforcement Administration authority to temporarily schedule substances if they are suspected anabolic steroids or steroid analogues.
“CHPA thanks the president for signing DASCA into law, as we believe it will help prevent the sale of falsely labeled steroids, which are often illegally marketed as dietary supplements by rogue manufacturers," stated Scott Melville, CHPA president and CEO. "Products containing illegal steroids are not supplements; they are misbranded drugs and a threat to public health."
“Our association has long supported the Food and Drug Administration’s efforts to crack down on the criminals who sell products that are spiked with illegal substances such as steroids or undeclared drugs."
