New MigraineX app to forecast barometric-driven migraine triggers

6/22/2016

COLD SPRING HARBOR, N.Y. — Cirrus Healthcare Products is looking to help migraine sufferers #killmigraines with the launch of a new app in early July that will serve as an alert system and companion to its new product of the same name — MigraineX. The app alerts sufferers when weather pressure changes are likely to trigger migraine attacks.

There are 38 million migraine sufferers in the U.S., and 75% report that weather pressure changes trigger their attacks, the company noted. “Our new MigraineX app will help these sufferers by alerting them to the weather changes that might trigger the attacks allowing them to prepare in advance to use our MigraineX product along with their other medicine, thereby controlling their attacks," stated Drew O'Connell, CEO Cirrus Healthcare.

The app will provide alerts at two times - one week in advance of a change in barometric pressure and one day in advance of a change in pressure. The app homepage will detail current weather patterns and barometer trends.

The MigraineX app will be available from the Apple App Store and Google Play.
