New pet supplements from Veterinary Products Laboratories prevent inflammation

8/12/2015

PHOENIX — Veterinary Products Laboratories on Wednesday added two products to its Duralactin Brand portfolio: Duralactin Feline + Fatty Acids Soft Chews, which to help manage inflammation in cats and support healthy skin, and a newly reformulated Duralactin Canine Joint Plus Soft Chews that help manage inflammation while maintaining healthy joints and cartilage.

“There are not a lot of options for cats to help manage inflammation so a palatable soft chew for cats is a great option for pet owners,” VPL senior director Betsy Watkis said. “Additionally, we have reformulated our Duralactin Canine Joint Plus Soft Chews to reduce the number of chews administered daily to help increase pet owner compliance. We truly believe these products are a smart defense against inflammation.”

Duralactin brand products contain an exclusive ingredient called MicroLactin, which is derived from milk and has been shown to help manage inflammation by stopping neutrophil migration during the inflammatory process, the company stated.

“Inflammation can significantly impact dogs and cats in a variety of ways. Therefore, it’s important to manage inflammation in order to maintain their health and wellness," company spokesperson Amy Van Gels said. "For optimal health, this management should begin early on in the inflammatory process.”
