P&G, Target think pink for breast cancer awareness

9/22/2010

CINCINNATI Procter & Gamble will sell limited-edition "pink" products at Target and will distribute a special edition of its BrandSaver coupon booklet to benefit the National Breast Cancer Foundation.

Some of the limited-edition pink products available at Target include: Tide, Downy, Bounce, Swiffer, Bounty, Pantene, CoverGirl, Olay and Venus. Additionally, a special edition of the P&G BrandSaver coupon booklet will be included in newspapers delivered to more than 57 million homes across the country on Sept. 26. For every BrandSaver coupon redeemed from the booklet at any participating retailer, a two-cent donation will be made to the NCBF. The donations will be used by NBCF to fund education programs across the country.

A total of 3 billion coupons will be distributed. This uncapped donation from P&G will be solely based on the number of coupons redeemed starting Sept. 26. The donations will be used by NBCF to fund education programs across the country.

"This October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, consumers can help contribute to breast cancer early detection efforts simply by clipping our P&G BrandSaver coupons, and redeeming them at their local Target," said Janet Fletcher, associate director of marketing strategy and scale at P&G. "With the help of Target guests, Procter & Gamble will make a large and impactful donation to the National Breast Cancer Foundation."
