Allergan purchases Aczone from QLT

IRVINE, Calif. Allergan sales, a wholly owned subsidiary of Allergan has completed its acquisition of Aczone gel 5 percent from QLT USA, according to published reports.

Aczone is a topical treatment for acne vulgaris. Allergan paid about $150 million for all assets relating to the Aczone product.

Allergan expects to launch the drug in the fourth quarter of 2008 in the U.S. and Canada.
