FDA grants Ipca application approval for nausea medication

MUMBAI, India The Food and Drug Administration has granted approval for the Ipca Laboratories’ application for metoclopramide tablets, Ipca announced Tuesday.

Metoclopramide, which Ipca will manufacture in 5 mg and 10 mg tablets, is used to treat nausea from surgical operations and chemotherapy. Ipca will manufacture the tablets, while Ranbaxy will market them.

Several companies manufacture and market metoclopramide under a variety of brand names.
