Food City to extend Fuel & Pharmacy bucks another month

7/10/2008

ABINGDON, Va. Food City will extend its Fuel and Pharmacy Bucks program until August, the supermarket chain has announced.

The program, originally slated to run until July 19 when Food City reintroduced it May 25, will last until Aug. 16.

The program gives shoppers $1 for gas or the pharmacy to customers using the ValuCart for every $10 worth of store-brand products they buy in a single shopping trip. They will also receive $1 whenever they buy five Coca-Cola six-pack half-liter bottles. The rebates automatically dispense in the checkout line at the end of each trip, and can be used at any Food City Pharmacy or Gas ‘N Go.

Food City, owned by K-VA-T Food Stores, has 96 stores in southeastern Kentucky, southwestern Virginia and northeastern Tennessee. It is based in Abingdon, Va.
