Solco Healthcare's generic version of UBC's Keppra approved by FDA

ROCKVILLE, Md. The Food and Drug Administration has approved a generic version of UBC's Keppra, agency records show.

The agency approved Solco Healthcare's generic levetiracetam tablets in the 250-mg, 500-mg, 750-mg and 1-g strengths. The drug is used to treat epilepsy. 

The branded version of the drug has annual sales of $1.1 billion, according to IMS Health data. Thirteen other companies also make generic versions of Keppra.
