Sun Pharma gets FDA green light for generic Glumetza tablets
Sun Pharmaceutical Industries has received the nod from the Food and Drug Association for a generic version of Santarus’ Glumetza (metformin hydrochloride) extended-release tablets in 500-mg and 1000-mg dosage strengths.
The product, which is used to improve glycemic control in adults with Type 2 diabetes, had a market value of $443 million for the 12 months ending April 2018, according to IQVIA data.
