Teva promotes affordable healthcare campaign with online video release
NEW YORK Teva Pharmaceuticals has made a series of online videos to promote the Year of Affordable Healthcare campaign it launched earlier this month that takes a cue from Apple’s successful “I’m a Mac” commercial spots.
The videos feature two characters, one representing branded drugs and another representing generic drugs, arguing about whether generic drugs offer the same benefits to consumers at a lower cost.
“We just need to let people know that we’re exactly the same, but I’m a lot more affordable,” “Generic Medication” says in the first video. “In fact, the federal government just said increased use of generics helps lower healthcare spending.”
“Well, that‘s totally obvious,” ‘Brand-Name’ says in response. “I don’t know why we have to make a commercial.”
