Popchips is adding a little flair to the snacking game.
The Los Angeles-based brand, which is part of the Velocity Snack Brands family, is launching not one, but two new offerings — grain free and corn chips.
For the grain free option, ingredients include cassava root that has been popped with heat pressure to create a light and airy texture that comes in sea salt and Cajun honey flavors.
On the other hand, the corn chips, also air popped, are only available in the perfectly salted option, but will roll out additional varities in the future, the company said.
“I’m incredibly proud of the world-class team we’ve put together at VSB in the past year,” said Amit Pandhi, CEO of VSB. “Concepting and delivering new products for Popchips was one of our first objectives as a company. To get that done in just a little over a year, in the face of uncertain times, is a testament to the unique atmosphere we’ve built at VSB. We have the flexibility of small start-ups with the deep expertise of larger corporate entities, all without the cumbersome standards and processes that can hinder growth potential.”
Both new launches are non-GMO, contain simple ingredients, and are made without the use of artificial flavors or preservatives.
Popchips grain free and corn chips are now available at more than 2,100 Kroger shelves across the nation.
