Publix’s GreenWise Market opens 2 Florida locations

Publix is continuing to expand its GreenWise Market concept.

On the heels of previously opening a banner in South Carolina, the Lakeland, Fla.-based retailer is opening two new locations in Florida.

Boca Raton and Lakeland are the locations of the two new GreenWise Markets, which feature specialty, natural and organic foods, as well as a large selection of prepared foods, the company said.

“Lakeland is our hometown, and Boca Raton was home to a former Publix GreenWise Market prototype until earlier this month,” Publix president Kevin Murphy, said. “Our customers in these communities have been excited to see the difference between what they’ve come to know about us and what we’ve created for them. Our teams are looking forward to sharing this new experience with everyone who comes through our doors.”

Other offerings featured in the market include in-store smoked meats, in-house made sausages, gourmet sandwiches, burrito bowls and special charcuterie options, as well as a beverage area featuring wine, local beer, locally roasted coffee and other selections.

In addition, the Bacon Raton location features a large-scale mosaic mural of South Florida flora created by Ellen Burr, and the Lakeland stores has an illustration of the city featuring local faces and recognizable landmarks by Josh “Bump” Galletta and Fred Koehler.
