Research shows benefits of multivitamins for older adults

Multivitamin and minerals brand Centrum said its Centrum Silver Adults 50+ is an age-adjusted formula that includes 24 essential micronutrients to promote heart health, support brain function, maintain healthy eyes and strengthen bones.

Recent research in Nature Aging found that combining vitamin D supplementation (also found in Centrum Silver) and omega-3 fatty acids with regular exercise can slow biological aging and reduce the risk of invasive cancer by 61%, the company noted.

Centrum Silver Adults 50+ are smooth-coated multivitamin tablets specially formulated for adults and seniors over 50. 

Centrum Minis Adults 50+, Centrum Minis Women 50+ and Centrum Minis Men 50+ are unique in that each tablet is 50% smaller than Centrum's standard-sized multivitamins, the company said. They are geared to people who have difficulty swallowing larger pills.
