RxBar is catering to those adhering to a plant-based lifestyle.

The brand is launching its first plant-based protein bar, which does not contain its signature egg whites, the Chicago-based company said.

“Fans have been asking for a plant-based RxBar for quite some time,” Jenny Lindquist, director of experience planning at RxBar said. “Today, we answered that call with a plant-based protein bar that delivers on both quality and taste, both essential to us in the development of RxBar Plant. That’s why it has been nearly two years in the making, to make sure we did it right.”

Available in two options — chocolate chip and peanut butter — the bars are made with such ingredients as dates, nuts, oats and a blend of pea and almond protein.

Made without the use of added sugar, each bar contains approximately 10 g of plant-based protein per serving, the company said.

Currently, RxBar’s plant-based protein bars are available online at rxbar.com and at such retailers as Target and Kroger.
