As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, and the need for hand sanitizer grows, a new brand of the product has begun to hit shelves.
Sanzi-Derm, launched by Beauty Partners, is compliant with standards set in place by the Food and Drug Administration.
“A few months ago, when news broke that New York and New Jersey, the home base of our company, were going to be heavily impacted by this pandemic, it shook our team to the core — we wanted to do what we could to help keep our communities safe and healthy. We believe this brand will have longevity in the market as a vital product,” co-founding partner of Beauty Brands, Barry Shields said.
Created by a team of suppliers and formula testing facilities, the product — manufactured in the United States — contains 72% ethyl alcohol by volume, following the CDC recommendation of effectiveness, the company said.
In addition, the brand also is making an initial donation of 5,000 bottles of hand sanitizer to local hospitals, nursing homes, police stations and fire stations in New York and New Jersey.
Blended with aloe and glycerin to moisturize skin, the product kills germs, and exceeds the CDC’s 60% alcohol content recommendation for effectiveness, the company said.
Retailing for $3.49, the product can be found at such retailers as Walgreens, Kroger, and Southeastern Grocers banners including Winn-Dixie.
