StarKist Creations Microwavables offer convenience

StarKist is changing the way consumers enjoy their tuna products.

New to the Pittsburgh-based company’s portfolio is the StarKist Creations Microwavables.

Packaged in a microwave-safe pouch, it contains wild-caught tuna, vegetables and such hearty grains as quinoa, barley and brown rice.

“The launch of new StarKist Creations Microwavables is an example of our commitment to provide consumers with healthy, convenient and delicious products,” Andy Mecs, the vice president of marketing and innovation at StarKist, said. “Microwavables are ready to eat at room temperature and are even better after heating for 30 seconds in our microwave-safe pouch. They have a mild aroma, so feel free to use the microwave at the office!”

The StarKist Creations Microwavables offerings are available in four varieties including:

• Bold Tuna Spicy Rice and Beans, which contain tuna, hot sauce, lime juice, brown rice, black beans and corn;
• Tuna Tomato Basil, which has wild-caught tuna, barley, tomatoes, aromatic garlic, extra virgin olive oil and black olives;
• Tuna Latin Citrus, which contains tuna, jalapeños, lime, quinoa, white beans and vegetables; and
• Tuna Thai Green Curry, which has tuna, green chili, coconut milk, rice and lemongrass.

“Everyone knows that I'm a big fan of StarKist Creations, and these StarKist Creations Microwavables are a new favorite in my home,” Candace Cameron Bure, StarKist spokesperson said. “I like spice, so my personal favorite is the Bold Tuna Spicy Rice and Beans flavor because it has a great kick to it. Just pop it into the microwave for 30 seconds and it's ready to enjoy. They are delicious and I personally like the versatility of enjoying them heated or unheated.”
