Sun-Maid adds fruity twist to raisin snacks

Sun-Maid is continuing to reimagine the traditional raisin snack.

To do just that, the Fresno, Calif.-based company is expanding its offerings with two new flavors inspired by summer.

New additions include the tropical punch and peach flavors, which are made from golden raisins.

“Traditionally, fruit snacks have been loaded with added sugars, corn syrup and artificial ingredients and it is time real fruit takes center stage,” chief imagination wrangler (president and CEO) Harry Overly said. “Our Fruity Raisin Snacks are simply real whole fruit that tastes like a candy, not a gummy fruity snack posing as real fruit. By adding in these delicious new flavors, we're delighted to offer fans the choice between a sourer punch or sweeter fruity taste – just in time for summer.”

Leaning towards the slightly sweeter side, Sun-Maid’s tropical punch and peach varieties are free of gluten and made without the use of sugar or artificial ingredients, the company said.

Consumers can find the new additions at Albertsons and Kroger, as well as Amazon.com, for the suggested retail price of $3.29.
