  • Survey: Showrooming may not be driving as many consumers to Amazon as everyone thinks

    ANN ARBOR, Mich. — In a survey of more than 6,200 consumers collected during the peak holiday shopping season between Thanksgiving and Christmas, Amazon scored highest among 25 of the top mobile commerce companies in terms of customer satisfaction, according to a report released Tuesday by ForeSee. 

  • New Justin Timberlake album sold at Target features two bonus tracks

    MINNEAPOLIS — Target is selling a special edition of Justin Timberlake's new studio album, the mass-merchandise retailer said Monday.

    Target said its edition of Timberlake's album, "The 20/20 Experience," would feature two bonus tracks, "Dress On" and "Body Count."

  • Target January sales rise nearly 30%

    MINNEAPOLIS — Target Corp. reported net sales of nearly $6 billion in January, the company said Thursday.

    The mass merchandise retailer reported sales of $5.97 billion, a 29.6% increase over the $4.6 billion reported in January 2012. Comps for the period, which ended Saturday, increased 3.1%.

  • Nestlé expands Valentine’s candy seasonal assortment

    GLENDALE, Calif. — Nestle today announced new additions to its line of Valentine’s Day offerings.

    This season's collection includes the new Wonka Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip Mystery Flavor Valentine Exchange Kit. Returning this year are Lik-M-Aid Fun Dip Valentine Exchange Kit, Nestlé Crunch and Butterfinger Hearts, Wonka's best-selling Nerds , Pixy Stix, or Laffy Taffy Candy and Card Kits, Wonka Sweetarts Lollipops and Wonka Sweetarts Hearts.

    TORONTO — Target has made its REDcard cards available for customers at its Canadian stores, the mass merchandise retailer said.

  • NCPDP releases updated acetaminophen white paper

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — A standards-development organization for the pharmacy services industry has updated a white paper on protecting consumers and patients from accidental overdoses of the painkiller acetaminophen.

    The NCPDP announced the updated white paper, "NCPDP Recommendations for Improved Prescription Container Labels for Medicines Containing Acetaminophen Version 1.1."

  • Six retailers make YouGov's BrandIndex 'Buzz' list

    NEW YORK — YouGov's BrandIndex has named 25 brands to its "2012 Annual US Top Buzz Rankings," YouGov said.

    The index measures public perception of thousands of brands based on interviews with thousands of consumers every day, with more than 2.5 million interviews every year.

  • Target to launch fresh food departments at nine Detroit stores

    MINNEAPOLIS — Target will dedicate about 10,000 sq. ft. at nine of its stores in the Detroit area to fresh groceries, the mass merchandise chain said Monday.

    The company said the remodeling effort was part of its ongoing effort to remodel stores across the country, and the new layout also would include reinventions in departments such as beauty, home, shoes and baby. Fresh foods will include produce, packaged meat and prepackaged baked goods, as well as frozen and dry food offerings.
