Teva rolls out generic Nexavar tablets

Teva is introducing a new generic product — sorafenib tablets.

The generic of Nexavar tablets is a prescription medication used to treat a type of liver cancer called hepatocellular carcinoma, which cannot be removed by surgery.

In addition, the tablets are also used to treat a type of kidney cancer called renal cell carcinoma; and a type of thyroid carcinoma that can no longer be treated with radioactive iodine and is progressing, the company said.
