Ahold Delhaize USA’s Peapod Digital Labs has launched an Incubator Program for certified diverse-owned suppliers to develop new, exceptional-quality private-brand products.

The company reported group net sales increased 8.3% and net sales were up 3.6% as food-at-home consumption remained resilient.

Ahold Delhaize is joining a multi-industry initiative that is intended to create sustainable value from the recycling of flexible plastics.

Retailers that made the list include Walmart, Costco, Ahold Delhaize, Walgreens Boots Alliance and Sephora.

Ahold Delhaize shared that consumer trends around cooking and eating at home, shopping online, and healthy eating have remained and evolved, and convenience continued to grow in importance.

The retailer reported that, excluding its recent FreshDirect acquisition, online sales in the United States grew by 7.5%.

As senior vice president of private brands, Ian Prisuta will be responsible for delivering services that include new product development, packaging, design and quality among others.

The retailer recently opened a new store in North Carolina’s Mallard Creek neighborhood.
