In celebration of Gillette’s latest addition to the Fusion family—the Fusion Power Gamer—the brand hosted the Gillette – EA Sports Champions of Gaming tournament powered by Xbox LIVE in Orlando, Fla., on Tuesday.

The new Gillette Fusion Power Gamer features Fusion’s five bladed-shaving surface for comfort and has a sleek new look.

Gillette and EA Sports, a label of Electronic Arts Inc., kicked off the Gillette – EA Sports Champions of Gaming tournament on Oct. 31, 2008, inviting participants to compete against other players on Xbox LIVE, Microsoft’s online gaming platform. The competition attracted more than 350,000 participants, making it the world’s largest online multi-sport gaming tournament. It consisted of one nine-part qualification round and one knockout round in three regions—the Americas, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

The regional champions competed on EA Sports titles for the chance to be crowned a Gillette – EA Sports Champion of Gaming and were part of a live event that will air on Spike on Feb. 18 at 11:30 p.m. EST.

The global champions earned one-on-one match-ups with athletes such as Tiger Woods and Derek Jeter, Nascar driver and Gillette Young Gun Denny Hamlin, NFL tailback Reggie Bush and NBA all-star point guard Jameer Nelson.

“These newly crowned Gillette – EA Sports Champions of Gaming have proven that they have what it takes to compete at the highest level, just like our Gillette Champions,” stated Peter Clay, VP, Gillette Global Grooming. “Through our partnership with EA Sports, we’re proud to provide our winners with the experience of a lifetime and the chance to compete against some of the top names in sport.”
