Rite Aid brings back free skin cancer screenings

CAMP HILL, Pa. Rite Aid and Aveeno are sponsoring the Skin Cancer Foundation's Road to Healthy Skin Tour, offering Americans free full-body skin cancer screenings and the latest sun care information.


Rite Aid, which has been a presenting sponsor of the tour since it started in 2008, will kick off its leg of the tour Friday, when the tour stops at the first of two Atlanta Rite Aid stores before heading east to Charlotte, N.C. The 2010 tour stops at Rite Aid stores in the District of Columbia and in 17 states as follows, in order of appearance: Georgia, North Carolina, Maryland, Virginia, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Michigan, Kentucky, Tennessee, California, Oregon, Washington, Utah and Colorado.


In addition to the free skin cancer screenings, visitors also can pick up educational materials explaining how to perform monthly skin checks at home and how to guard daily against the sun. Coupons and samples of sun protection products also will be available.
