Candid debuts whole-plant chocolate snacks

Candid is bringing its whole-plant, low-sugar chocolate snacks to shelves in the United States.

The brand’s Noons product, which does not contain emulsifiers, unnatural sweeteners or added cane sugar, is made from such organic ingredients as tropical fruits and superfoods, the company said.

Sweetened with cacao fruit, Noons will be available in four flavors — pineapple and coconut, banana and nibs, golden berry and turmeric and mango, and mango and cinnamon.

Featuring a dark chocolate taste with fruity and tart undertones, Candid works directly with small-holder farmers in Latin America to source ingredients for its Noons products, and support regenerative agroforestry, the company said.

“Noons are meant to be healthier, snackier, and more fun. If customers want to dig deeper and learn about our mission, they'll find that Candid supports regenerative agroforestry and ethical trade. But if they just want a delicious chocolate snack, that's fine, too,” Candid CEO, Chris Kajander said.

In addition, the snacks are paleo-friendly, vegan, gluten-free and non-GMO, and come in environmentally friendly packaging, the company said.
