    CLEVELAND — American Greetings is introducing digital slideshow cards for Mother's Day.

    The cards, which are available in both preloaded and customizable versions, feature full-color LCD displays, high-quality audio and multi-image slideshows set to music.

  • Hostess makes room for lemon meringue flavor on shelves

    IRVING, Texas — Consumers have helped Hostess add a new Twinkie flavor to its lineup.

    Based on its Hostess Twinkie Mania sweepstakes, the snack brand will debut lemon meringue Twinkies next year for a limited time.

    Lemon meringue edged out the raspberry tart, cookies 'n creme and blueberry pie flavors.

    HACKETTSTOWN, N.J. — Mars Chocolate North America has boosted its Dove and 3 Musketeers brands, the company announced.

    Mars Chocolate recently sweetened up the ice cream aisle with new DoveBar peanut butter swirl ice cream with milk chocolate. The ice cream bar, which now is available in stores, retails for $4.09 per three-pack.

  • Lance introduces campaign targeting on-the-run moms

    CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Sandwich cracker brand Lance has teamed up with lifestyle expert Colleen Burns to kick off the Mom on the Run Loves Lance campaign.

    The fully integrated marketing campaign, which kicked off in mid-April and will run through June, will include a Facebook page and a microsite (MomsLoveLance.com), where consumers can access springtime fun tips, videos with Mom on the Run Burns and weekly parenting discussions.

  • New energy brand melts in your mouth

    NEW YORK — "A new way to do energy" has hit the market.

    Sheets — a brand co-developed by basketball star LeBron James, along with PureBrands CEO Warren Struhl and co-founders Jesse Itzler and Maverick Carter — are individually wrapped, paper-thin dissolving strips that tout the same amount of caffeine as a cup of premium coffee in one small strip, which is about 100 mg, without containing any sugar or calories, the company said.

    SAN RAFAEL, Calif. — Annie Chun's is introducing a new line of organic, fresh-cooked noodles.

    Annie Chun's Organic FreshPak Noodles are vegan, low-fat noodles that can be prepared in less than five minutes on the stove or in the microwave and are available in three authentic varieties, including chow mein, buckwheat soba and Japanese-style udon. The noodles can be enjoyed hot or cold, and are ideal for stir-frying, soups and salads, the company said.

    SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — The Grand Ballroom at the Phoenician was packed with spouses for the keynote address from Food Networks’ Melissa d’Arabian, host of "Ten Dollar Dinners with Melissa d’Arabian."

    D’Arabian filled in for Sandra Lee, host of "Semi-Homemade Cooking" and "Sandra’s Money Saving Meals," who withdrew from the speaking engagement due to personal reasons, Janet Loeffler, wife of H-E-B’s Bob Loeffler, shared with the audience.
