PURCHASE, N.Y. — Pepsi has entered the artisanal beverage space with Caleb’s Kola, a drink made with cane sugar, kola nut extract and a blend of spices packaged in 10-oz. glass bottles. Each bottle has 110 calories and 29 grams of sugar.

Named for Caleb Bradham, the North Carolina pharmacist credited with creating Pepsi’s formula in the 1890s, the brand is positioned as a specialty craft soda designed to appeal to millennials who are looking for authentic products with a touch of nostalgia. Caleb’s Kola is available at select Costco locations in Maryland, New York, Virginia and Washington, D.C., but Pepsi plans a wider rollout for later this year.
