Coty is debuting a brand-new sustainability platform, “Beauty that Lasts.”

Focused on three pillars — The Beauty of our People, The Beauty of our Products and The Beauty of our Planet — the platform is part of the company’s plan to build a better business while making positive contributions towards societal, ethical and environmental change within the beauty industry.

“We want to ensure our business is ready to compete in a more circular economy and to benefit from a more inclusive society,” Pierre Laubies, Coty CEO said. “We have seen huge interest and momentum from our associates, consumers and customers in these areas. We believe that by confirming targets, we will inspire action; and these goals will allow us to play a role alongside our peers to deliver meaningful impact in our industry.”

With The Beauty of our Products pillar, Coty aims to implement a product sustainability index that ensures brands and designers make informed choices for all new developments.

In The Beauty of our Planet pillar, the company is looking do its part to protect and conserve natural resources to achieve healthy, clean and safe environments. Against a 2017 baseline, Coty has reduced the combined scope of emissions from its offices, factories and distribution centers by 21% and reduced building energy consumption by 19%, the company said.

Last, but certainly not least, The Beauty of our People pillar focuses on the company’s commitment to diversity, inclusion and belonging. It has continued its partnership with Global Citizen since 2017 and as of Dec. 31, 2019, more than 200,000 actions have been taken in support of its sponsored campaigns, the company added.
