    Dollar General is working out details to construct a $91 million distribution center in Orange County, N.Y.
     
    The chain is eyeing the creation of a 750,000-square-foot distribution hub on a 100-acre site in the town of Florida, N.Y., the Albany Business Review reported.

  • Dollar General Q2 sales fall short

    Dollar General Corp. reported lower-than-expected revenue for the second quarter amid increasing competition and reduced food stamp coverage.
     
    The company’s net income was $306.52 million, or $1.08 per share, in the quarter, compared to net income of $282.35 million, or $0.95 per share, in the year-ago period.
  • Dollar General expands into North Dakota

    Dollar General is moving into North Dakota, announcing that it has begun construction on five new stores in the state. This gives the discount retailer a footprint in 44 states after having established operations in Maine, Oregon, and Rhode Island in 2015.

    The initial North Dakota locations will be in Ellendale, Gwinner, Hankinson, Hillsboro, and Oakes. They’re being built in the chain’s standard 9,100-sq.-ft. format.

  • Dollar General's store growth hits a big number

    Dollar General continues to expand its store portfolio at a rapid pace.

    The discounter on Monday opened its 13,000th store, in Birmingham, Ala. The company operates approximately 675 stores in Alabama.
