Farm Rich enters the plant-based space

For consumers on the hunt for variety in the frozen food aisle, Farm Rich has a few new options to explore.

The St. Simons Island, Ga.-based company is expanding its offerings by introducing a new plant-based line — Garden Inspirations.

Consisting of plant-based products for those who consider themselves flexitarians, vegetarians, or simply looking to reduce their meat consumption, the line includes appetizers, snacks and meal solutions.

Products that will be launching exclusively at Kroger’s physical and digital shelves include:

  • Meatless Meatballs, which contain 12 g of plant-based protein per serving, and are made with a blend of soy and pea proteins, garlic and onion, as well as other spices; and
  • Plant-Based BBQ Sliders, which are made with pulled porkless soy shreds, contain a tangy barbecue sauce and are placed on a soft roll, the sliders are individually wrapped and contain 13 g of plant-based protein per serving.

“Many of us are taking little — and some big — steps to limit how much meat we consume and expand our daily diet choices, and this innovative new line gives shoppers more plant-based options to choose from at the grocery store,” Ciera Womack, the Farm Rich senior marketing manager said. “The Meatless Meatballs and BBQ Sliders are just a taste of several new plant-based foods planned this year from Garden Inspirations by Farm Rich.”

In addition, Farm Rich is looking to add two new meatless alternatives to Kroger shelves this summer. They include:

  • Breaded Cauliflower Bites, which contain whole cauliflower florets that have been rolled in a rice coating and come with a sweet sesame dipping sauce; and
  • Breaded Zucchini Sticks, which feature zucchini slices that have been breaded and come with a marinara dipping sauce.
