Garnier’s World of Green Beauty doubles down on sustainability

Gisselle

Garnier is doubling down on its sustainability efforts via The World of Green Beauty.

The virtual event, which highlighted product formulas and packaging, as well as new product launches, also touched on how the beauty brand is working to reduce the environmental and social impact of the ongoing issue of plastic pollution.

To do just that, Garnier is partnering with Plastics for Change and Ocean Conservancy and even joining the International Coastal Cleanup.

In order to further that mission, the beauty brand also unveiled its latest sustainable efforts, which range from serum creams to facial washes and cleansing eco-pads.

Though it’s not just through packaging that Garnier is looking to make a difference, it also is through the sourcing of ingredients and ensuring that renewable ingredients are being favored where cultivation is being managed in order to preserve the local ecosystem, according to Aurelie Weinling, Garniers sustainability director.

Garnier Green Labs’ newest launches not only aim to improve the look and feel of skin while also being mindful of the plant, but they also blend together the world and nature and science to create solutions for glowing and healthy-looking skin, the company said.

Using superfood extracts, as well as dermatological ingredients, the serum cream combines the benefits of three products in one —  the potency of a serum, hydration of a moisturizer and protection of SPF 30.

Available in three options, the serum cream line’s offerings range from:

  • Brightening Pinea-C Serum Cream and Gel Wash, which looks to tackle daily external aggressors that may leave skin looking dull and uneven. Formulated with pineapple extract and vitamin C, the serum cream and gel wash can help skin tone appear brighter, fade dark spots over time and erase skin dullness over time as well;
  • Replumping Hyalu-Melon Serum Cream and Milky Wash, which has been formulated with watermelon extract and hyaluronic acid to help skin appear bouncier and smoother. The milky wash also removes makeup and impurities without leaving skin feeling tight or dry, and when combined with the serum cream can help reduce the look of fine lines; and
  • Pore-perfecting Canna-B Serum Cream and 3-in-1 Cleanser, which look to leave skin looking balanced and less oily. Formulated with cannabis sativa seed oil and vitamin B3, skin texture can be improved and both imperfections and pores are also reduced.

Available for purchase in October, each of the Garnier Green Labs serum creams retail for $21.99 and the facial washes for $9.99 at GarnierUSA.com, as well as drug and food retailers nationwide.

Though that’s not all the beauty brand has up its sleeve when it comes to clean beauty launches. Joining the serum cream and cleansers are the — Skinactive All-In-1 Brightening Micellar Cleansing Water with Vitamin C, which looks to not only remove cleanse, and remove makeup but also brighten dull skin. Formulated with vitamin C, this micellar cleansing water is both allergy and dermatologist tested, suitable for all skin types, free of parabens, mineral oils, dyes, phthalates and animal-derived ingredients.

Last but certainly not least is the Skinactive Micellar Cleansing Eco Pads, which are reusable microfiber pads that aid the micellar water in removing makeup and cleansing skin without harsh rubbing. They can be hand washed with soap and water after each use, as well as put into the washing machine for a deeper clean.

Both the micellar water and eco pads retail for $8.99 each and will be available at GarnierUSA.com and at drug and food retailers nationwide beginning in October.
