    GURNEE, Ill. — Weiman Products, a manufacturer of specialty cleaning products whose portfolio includes Weiman Cook Top Cleaner and Weiman Leather Wipes, has acquired from the Homax Group the Goo Gone, Magic, Stone Care International, Natural Magic, OOPS! Paint Remover and Gonzo brands.

The detergent is available in two varieties, Original Scent and Moonlight Breeze — a new scent that Gain is adding to its laundry portfolio. The product will launch during the 56th Annual Grammy Awards.

  • IRI: Consumers beginning new year with conservative outlook

    CHICAGO — After a year of sluggish economic growth in 2013, it is no surprise that consumers are beginning the new year with a conservative outlook. An IRI MarketPulse survey released Wednesday found that shopper sentiment dropped in fourth quarter 2013, and this gloomy attitude is spilling over into 2014 across all age groups. 

    It is particularly evident among millennials, who reported a 10-point decline since third quarter 2013 and have consistently struggled since the economic downturn began.

    SOUTH DEERFIELD, Mass. — Yankee Candle Company, a manufacturer of scented candles, announced the introduction of five new fragrances to its lineup. The Exotic Escapes collection — now available at Yankee Candle stores, YankeeCandle.com and specialty retailers — seeks to take consumers away for a tropical excursion, the company said.

    MIAMI — Top Pair recently introduced Safe-Sit, a disposable paper toilet seat cover that retails for a suggested $1.99 for 10 sheets. The product is packaged in a convenient personal pack that can be carried for on-the-go use. 

    Safe-Sit is biodegradable, antiallergic and eco-friendly, the company stated.
