  • Brillo, BCRF continue partnership

    WALLED LAKE, Mich. — Brillo once again has teamed up with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.

    As part of their continued partnership, Brillo will donate 5 cents of each purchase of specially marked packages of Brillo steel wool soap pads and Brillo Estracell sponges, up to $50,000. This year marks the second time the brand and the BCRF have joined forces.

  • LifeStraw now available to consumers

    NEW YORK — A portable, personal water filter now is available to consumers in the United States and Canada for the first time.

  • American Medical ID broadens reach with added distribution

    HOUSTON — American Medical ID has expanded its reach by offering its medical identification bracelets and necklaces at three major drug stores.

    The company said that beginning this month, its products now are available at 5,800 CVS locations, 7,200 Walgreens locations and 4,800 Rite Aid locations.

  • Entry deadline extended for Product of the Year USA awards

    NEW YORK — The world's largest consumer-voted program that recognizes innovation in consumer packaged goods has extended its entry deadline to Oct. 31.

    The Product of the Year USA awards — which honor consumer brands that participate in the survey conducted by custom research agency TNS — initially had an entry deadline of Aug. 31. The winners of these awards are given the opportunity to tout the Product of the Year logo on their packaging.

    Winners still be will announced in February 2012.

  • Kmart predicts kids' 'wish lists' with release of annual Fab 15 toy list

    HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. — Kmart has announced its list of the top toys for the 2011 holiday season.

    Unveiling its third annual Fab 15 toy list, Kmart said that this year's list features the hottest toys of the season from such brands as Hasbro, Mattel and more. The listed items range from $29.99 to $99.99.
