Häagen-Dazs rolls out limited-edition ruby cacao collection

Ruby cacao is the latest flavor trend taking over the world of desserts.

Häagen-Dazs is the latest company is embracing the new taste by unveiling its new ruby cacao crackle trio crispy layers and ruby cacao ice cream bars in stores nationwide.

The ruby cacao, which can be found in Ecuador, Brazil and Ivory Coast, releases its hue during the bean’s fermentation process, the company said.

“The Häagen-Dazs brand encourages consumers to indulge in the finest, and the ruby cacao collection is an extraordinary new experience for people to try,” Rachel Jaiven, Häagen-Dazs brand manager said. “The flavor is fresh, fruity and smooth with an aftertaste of berry and a hint of cacao. The brand has expertly paired ruby's unique, delicious taste profile and intriguing color with decadent Häagen-Dazs ice cream, offering consumers a variety of ways to experience this exceptional innovation.”

Products part of the Häagen-Dazs ruby cacao collection include:

  • Ruby Cacao Crackle Pistachio Sweet Cream Trio Crispy Layers, which features ruby cacao layers, as well as the brand’s pistachio and sweet cream ice cream. A 14-oz. container retails for $5.49; and
  • Ruby Cacao Ice Cream Bars, which contain sweet ice cream that has been dipped in a ruby cacao coating, and contains fruity berry notes. A box of three bars retails for $4.49.

Häagen-Dazs’ ruby cacao collection is rolling out to freezer aisles nationwide and will only be available until September.
